Description:

The Executive Director of the Greater Plymouth Performing Arts Center, Inc dba The Spire Center serves as the chief operating officer of the organization and reports to the President. The ED is responsible for managing the human resources (staff and volunteers) of the Spire and implementing the vision set by the Board of Directors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership and oversees complete operation of performances including the experience of performers and patrons
  • This position requires direct communication with patrons, performers, and staff. The Executive Director will be responsible for introducing performers and making announcements from the stage.
  • Oversee our Etix Box Office Ticketing System
  • Plan and coordinate special events as well as working with outside vendors and rental groups
  • Strategic Planning – Provide leadership in creating systems, methods and timelines for accomplishing goals and objectives
  • Supervise staff and volunteers – Review performance, set goals, educate and organize in accordance with our procedures to ensure customer safety and the most positive experience possible
  • Financial Duties including processing weekly payroll, banking duties, financial reporting and other related financial matters
  • Ability to understand and oversee all aspects of a live music venue including, but not limited to Audio Visual and Production, patron relations and customer service, artist relations and management, hospitality and concession operation and facility operations.
  • Work alongside the Board of Directors and provide support on projects and maintaining confidence & organizational information
  • This position requires nights and weekends. The Executive Director is expected to be in attendance at Spire Center shows and performances.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years relevant experience
  • Experience dealing with the public
  • Experience managing staff
  • Ability to work with current technology systems and identify new technology that may be of benefit
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of and interest in the performing arts
