Dorothy McDonough, or Dot as we all
affectionately call her, is a larger-
than-life one-woman workforce.
Dot began working at the Spire
Center very early after its opening as
an audio intern. Anyone who has
attended an event at the Spire Center
has come into contact with her in
some way, shape or form. Dot
answers phones, sells tickets,
publishes the Spire Magazine, is the
in-house video producer, and during a
show don’t be surprised to see her
running lights, working as an audio or
monitor engineer and even
bartending.
Two Dorothy’s in Kansas as the
tornado’s fly, crab racing in Tahiti,
fireworks at Disney Japan, hot air
ballooning in Australia, wearing a
huge sombrero while fending off
robbers in Mexico, exploring rock
formations on the beaches of
Newfoundland and Prince Edward
Island, singing Bohemian Rhapsody in
Ireland with her bestie and her Nana,
and camel riding in the dessert of
Namibia are all very typical days
away from work for Dot!
This just touches on all of the
accomplishments of this self-made
professional woman. Her dedication
and tenacity are an inspiration to all
of us at the Spire Center and the
Plymouth community. Thank you,
Dot for all that you do!
