COCO MONTOYA &
RONNIE BAKER BROOKS
SAT, AUG 13 8PM
$30
With Ronnie Baker Brooks and Coco Montoya sharing the
stage, it’s going to be a night packed with profound blues and
hard-rocking good times.
Between his white-hot guitar playing and his soulful,
emotional vocals, Coco Montoya has talent to burn. In a
career that spans almost four decades, he’s gone from
drumming for blues icon Albert Collins to holding the lead
guitar spot in John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers to leading his own
band and touring worldwide.
On the first day recording Times Have Changed – the eleven-track album from Chicago bluesman Ronnie Baker
Brooks that brings a sound so big it could topple a Louisiana juke joint – industry-revered album producer and
drummer Steve Jordan told Brooks to put his pedal board back in the van. For the first time in his professional
life, Brooks, the son of Texas and Chicago blues legend Lonnie “Guitar Jr.” Brooks, would plug a Gibson into
TKTK amp and rip it straight from there
AN EVENING WITH KAT WRIGHT
FRI, AUG 19 8PM
$26
Kat Wright, Bob Wagner (guitar) and Josh Weinstein (bass) lean
into their trio formation, showcasing their folky / rootsy selves, all
stripped down, a triangulation of their strengths, their bareness,
their imperfect humanness, their voices, their ferocious
tenderness, their love of songs and singing and story.
“QUEEN OF BOSTON COMEDY” WITH
CHRISTINE HURLEY
SAT, AUG 20 8PM
$25
Featuring Pete Costello & Dave Russo. Christine Hurley loves what
she does…making people laugh! Married to Jimmy Hurley and having
five kids, Christine is never at a loss for comedic material.
Like any great comedian, Christine has an innate ability to see humor
in “everyday” situations. For years, she entertained family, friends and
neighbors in their kitchens, at barbeques and the grocery store aisles.
The only difference now is she uses a microphone and a stage.
